The Need To Speak (Or Write)

Although I'm not new to computing and certainly not to writing, I am new to blogging.

I mean, I've kept up with a few blogs but I've never really understood the reason to write one. I suppose that like most people, I would never think that anything I have to say is particularly interesting. Like most people, I have passions, concerns and I suppose, reasons to rant. Deep in the back of my mind, there is a fear of exposing myself on a large scale basis for everyone to see, as well as the deep rooted desire to keep things about my life private. However, I do admit to enjoying things about others that are funny, personal and opinionated.

At the same time, I find the need to speak or write. Maybe, it's a means of wanting to help or to share. Maybe, it's my way of feeling relevant. I keep tossing this last reason around in my head quite a bit. After all, I am "50ish" but I don't feel and often don't act my age.

What are the things that I will be writing about? As much as I've tried, I can't seem to limit myself to just one topic. How can I?  After all, the person that I am has been touched by so many experiences and people. In short, there are so many things I want to touch upon and some of them might include: Bicycles, technology, reviews or opinions about products, aging gracefully or otherwise, employment, education, race, money and maybe a thing or two about my life, in an effort to either save or be saved by the world.

Yes, I do have my work cut out for me but every journey begins with a step.
